The Franciscan Friary Commemoration

In May 2012, a plaque to commemorate the Franciscan Friary was placed upon a specially-commissioned stone plinth located over the remains of a building known to have formed part of the Friary.

A plinth was constructed from hamstone in the shape of a column preserved in the Blake Museum.
The memorial is located within a small plot of land in Friarn Avenue, Bridgwater. This plot will become a community garden over the forthcoming twelve months with involvement from students from Cannington College (part of Bridgwater College).
