The combined societies and vistors listen to an explanation of the ages of the north-east chapel and charnel house of St Mary's Church.
On Sunday afternoon 11 May in glorious weather we were pleased to welcome our friends from Taunton & District Civic Society for a guided walk of the historic parts of Bridgwater.
Just over 30 members from both Societies gathered outside St. Mary's Church
for the event which was led by our Vice-Chairman, Dr. Peter Cattermole with
other information of interest being provided along the way by our President,
Mr. Derek Gibson.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon during which we all learned a great
deal more about the town. Its past history was conveyed in Peter's usual
engaging, and often humerous, style.
At the end of the walk refreshments were enjoyed in the Unitarian Chapel,
Dampiet Street.
Frances Pitt, Chairman of Taunton and District Civic Society, said: "
Thank you so very much for the guided tour, which was fascinating."
The Bridgwater & District Civic Society's next tour of Bridgwater is on Sunday 15 June Details are here.
